2024 ★ Graphic design for Sarah Maldoror. Kontext e.V.
“Sarah Maldoror. Kontext” is a curated film program that aims to share Sarah Maldoror’s work with the Berlin audience and connects her work and vision with other community-based projects and films.
The theme of the programme was “restitution”. In many conversations about restitution, a recurring question is whether the country of origin can “properly” store the artefacts (which is condescending in many ways). Yet the wear and tear of relics and their impermanence are inevitable, challenging realities, regardless of the country. And proper storage shouldn’t be the main issue when barely anyone gets access to the artefacts. The colour scheme is influenced by deteriorated and damaged film. The leaflet’s last page has a perforated postcard. Attendees on-site could collect the 12 fake self-adhesive stamps.
2021 ★ Visual appearance for the Federal Award for Art Students

The “Bundespreis für Kunststudierende” (Federal Award for Art Students) honours students from various disciplines at Germany’s 24 art colleges every two years. The competition was organised by Deutsches Studentenwerk and funded by Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung.
Tragic events, social and political unrest and a pandemic shaped the past few years that required a reflection of one’s values and priorities. In a post-truth setting, we have to rethink the handling of information. The visual concept played with this overload of data—images and text line up en masse—visualizing the news streams that reach us daily. The artists, though, represent positions that can be silver linings on the horizon, encouraging us to look behind the cacophonic curtain.
2019★ Guidance system for the department of Visual Communication (Art Academy Berlin Weissensee)
The goal was to create a clear visual language that is fun and approachable, sending out the message: “We’re the department of Visual Communication! We’re not mysterious. You can “durchblicken” (understand) us.”
nguyễn thúy hà (they/them) is an interdisciplinary artist and writer based in Berlin. hà’s work asks how imperialism and racist ideology manifest in seemingly hidden forms.
with many years of experience as a graphic designer, hà has contributed to various projects in education and culture. with a deliberate approach, hà attempts to visually process intersectional topics and question design conventions. as a member of the BIPOC collective Decolonoize Berlin, hà is committed to creating spaces for other creatives, and music fans of Color through concerts, workshops, readings, and other community-oriented events.
hà studied Visual Communication at the Art Academy Berlin Weissensee and Art in Context at the University of the Arts Berlin.
