2025 ★ Decolonoize Workshop Series: Graphic Design for Musicians

Artist branding, such as cover art, is necessary to target your audience before they even hear your music. However, many musicians cannot afford to hire additional photographers, videographers, or designers. The workshop aimed to break down basic design principles for participants. What does distinctive artist branding look like? How can your visual expression be implemented for various media, such as album art, merchandise, social media, etc.? And how can you realise those ideas with simple means?

2023 ★ Gemeinsam einfach mal Gedichte lesen, Weissensee Academy of Art Berlin

In the theory seminar, the students spent a semester engaging with poetry (in a broader sense). What does situated reading mean? The goal was not to understand the author, but to get to know the other through one's own experiences and knowledge. Students brought texts and shared them with the group. The poet Katarina Gotić Damiani was invited as a guest to talk about her practice. At the end, students wrote a letter of their own, inspired by the letters from the anthology This Bridge Called My Back, which was collected in the form of a loose zine.

2021 ★ Type Matters: Lecture on typography and beyond

In this lecture we looked at neglected aspects around typography. Why does language support matter and how do design conventions manifest within typography (reading direction, “ethnic” typefaces)? Being aware of your typefaces beyond their aesthetics can help you become a more aware designer.

2019 ★ Typographic Systems: A look into applied poster design

This lecture broke down Kimberly Elam’s “Typographic Systems of Design” by looking at contempary examples of poster design.

with many years of experience as a graphic designer, hà has contributed to various projects in education and culture. with a deliberate approach, hà attempts to visually process intersectional topics and question design conventions. as a member of the BIPOC collective Decolonoize Berlin, hà is committed to creating spaces for other creatives, and music fans of Color through concerts, workshops, readings, and other community-oriented events.
hà studied Visual Communication at the Art Academy Berlin Weissensee and Art in Context at the University of the Arts Berlin.
